One of the most ironic behind-the-scenes stories from The Big Bang Theory belongs to Kunal Nayyar, whose real-life love story was the complete opposite of the character who made him famous.
For much of the sitcom's run, Raj Koothrappali was known for one unforgettable trait—he couldn't speak to women unless he had consumed alcohol.
Off-screen, however, Kunal Nayyar had no such problem.
Instead, he found the woman he would spend his life with in a chance meeting that eventually turned into one of Hollywood's sweetest marriages.
A Chance Meeting Changed Everything
Kunal Nayyar first met Neha Kapur, a former Miss India, at the opening of a bar in 2008.
Like many people meeting someone they instantly admire, his first reaction was equal parts awe and self-doubt.

"My first thought was, 'This is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.' My second thought was, 'She's way out of my league.'"

After three years together, Kunal and Neha married on December 22, 2011, in New Delhi, India.

It became one of the most memorable milestones of Nayyar's personal life during the height of The Big Bang Theory's popularity.
A Decade Of Love
When the couple celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary in 2021, both shared heartfelt messages that gave fans a glimpse into their relationship.
Nayyar wrote:
"We may be unconventional, but I remembered how we promised to not live our lives according to someone else's version of it. Cheers to you, champion, partner, best friend. Whatever is to come, I am lucky we have tomorrow."
Neha responded with equally touching words:
"Like rivers... we chose our own paths and come back to merge as one."
Their messages reflected the same warmth and respect that fans had admired throughout their relationship.
